Here is further information about the scams on Craigslist…

The MLS is still receiving reports of local properties appearing on Craigslist.org in apparent scams. Two versions of the scam has been reported involving offering fraudulent leases of For Sale properties that are in the MLS and also attempts to steal personal credit data from unsuspecting consumers using similar tactics. Please be AWARE that this is occurring. If you have rental property advertised on this site you can check for this activity on by going to www.craigslist.org and searching under the South Carolina/Greenville/housing section.
If you find yourself a victim of this scam, please report it to the following locations that are posted on Craigslist.

If you suspect that an item posted for sale on craigslist may be part of a scam, please email the details to “abuse@craigslist.org”. Be sure to include the URL (or 10-digit post ID number) in your message.
